Eroiica ver. 4.6 - news
The new release of Eroiica advances the functionality of version 4.5 in the area of user interface, language support,
CAD font processing, scanning, speed, raster processing, object manipulation and color processing.
Improved User Interface
The process of loading and saving documents is graphically visualized using a progress bar and percentage indicator.
The process of displaying large vector files is now faster, smoother and without noticeable delays.
Improved Language Support
International companies or companies with an international client base or staff can now work in a variety of languages by just selecting their language of choice. It's that easy. Eroiica ver. 4.6 offers users the ability to change the working language to suit their preference on-the-fly. As soon as the language selection is made, Eroiica's menus, dialog boxes, help, etc. are displayed in the desired language. Other languages can be added to already installed Eroiica.
Improved Font Mapping in CAD Drawings
If original CAD fonts are not available and replacement Windows fonts are used, Eroiica will analyze available choices and select the one that is closest to the shape and size of the original CAD font.
Enhanced Measurement Functionality
Users can now measure all types of objects rather than just objects of linear character. If the Measurement window is active, drawn and selected object's dimensions, including perimeter and area, are automatically displayed.
Z-order Function Added
Hidden objects can now be selected and manipulated with ease:
- Bring to front ... the selected object is placed on top of all the other objects on the layer
- Send back ... the selected object is placed at the bottom of all the other objects on the layer
TWAIN Support For Scanning Added
Eroiica can now communicate with a variety of scanners, digital cameras, and other such peripherals using TWAIN interface. Once your TWAIN device driver is installed, Eroiica will find it and let you acquire data from your device. Switching between TWAIN drivers is fast and easy.
If the File menu item 'Acquire' is selected, TWAIN device driver window is opened and options such as monochrome, grayscale, color, preview, etc. become available. Once the data is acquired, further enhancement and manipulations are done within Eroiica.
If the File menu item 'Select Source' is selected, a dialog window listing all available device drivers is displayed.
Eroiica TWAIN support also includes background batch processing; in other words, Eroiica stays active while data is being acquired in the background.
Enhanced Color Processing
The quality and speed of color processing has been greatly improved.
Eroiica ver. 4.6 handles 16, 256 and True Color images more efficiently and eliminates
some of the side effects such as color distortions and screen 'repaints' when switching
active windows. Nevertheless, selecting the option 'Fast display',
which turns automatic dithering off, can further increase the speed of image display.
However, this increase comes at the expense of color quality.
Faster Access to Image Enhancing Functions
For easy and fast enhancement of bilevel (black and white) as well as color images, functions such as grayscale, brightness, and negative were optimized and can be now accessed via standard toolbars.
- Grayscale: The legibility of bilevel rasters is greatly enhanced when the grayscale option is active. Essentially, the grayscale option replaces sharp edges in bilevel rasters with shades of gray. Color images converted to grayscale are displayed according to the tone of each color.
- Negative: The ability to display, view and print the negative of bilevel or color images.
- Brightness: The ability to display images in such a way that it appears the source of light is located behind the image. This option is recommended for increasing the legibility of negatives and bilevel images with large black areas.
Enhanced Despeckle
Eroiica can now despeckle negative images--i.e. remove white speckles in white areas.
Directory Selection in the Symbol Palette
The Symbol palette can now navigate through a directory structure.
Functionality Added to Merge
The brightness of color merges can now be adjusted directly in the merge dialog box as opposed to Eroiica ver 4.5 where the new raster colors were dependent on the Windows display driver.
When merging 256 color rasters, optimal color palette is generated.
